M.S. Faizal Khan

M.S. Faizal Khan was born to Dr. A. P. Majeed Khan and Mrs. Saifuniza on 28th May 1982 at Neyyattinkara, Trivandrum, India. His early education was as at Government M.T.H.S Ooroottukala, Neyyattinkara and St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Pattom. Later he completed Master of Science in Software Engineering from Noorul Islam College of Engineering in 2005 and immediately became part of Noorul Islam Educational Trust (NIET). It was the time when NIET was celebrating its 50th year of inception and was thinking of establishing a healthcare facility in the hometown for the benefit of the rural population in and around Neyyatinkara, who were all facing the hardship of travelling to Thiruvananthapuram for their healthcare needs. The responsibility of establishing the healthcare facility was entrusted to Mr. Faizal Khan and he assumed the responsibility as the Managing Director of Noorul Islam Institute of Medical Science and Research Foundation (NIMS). His youthful energy and business acumen were instrumental in NIMS flourishing into the pre-eminent super specialty hospital in South Kerala within a span of just 7 years. He was also instrumental in establishing NIMS Heart Foundation, the first specialized cardiac care centre in South Kerala in 2007. NIMS Heart Foundation played a very important role in providing quality cardiac care through establishing the first Cardiac catheterization laboratory performing 24 x 7 primary angioplasties thereby decreasing the number of heart attack deaths in Neyyattinkara taluk . He also established Asia’s First cardiology department performing cardiac Interventions powered by sustainable renewable energy, which earned him an opportunity to present the project in the United Nations General assembly in New York on 21st May 2015. Besides an able administrator, Mr. Faizal Khan is also a writer and orator. His motto "Health care for all, irrespective of wealth" has paved way for many charitable projects like "Heart 2 Heart", free heart surgery project, free dialysis projects, NIMS SPECTRUM (Comprehensive Rehabilitation programme for the differently abled children), etc.

Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan was born to Mr. Alison Mohammed Khan and Pathuma Beevi on 21-12-1934 at Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram. After resigning a Government Job, Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan started the first technical institute of Kerala in 1954. He was instrumental in offering technical education courses such as civil survey, lower survey, electrical and electronics etc for the first time in Kerala under the auspices of Madras Government Technical Education. During the implementation of the Kerala Land Reforms Act in 1958, there was severe scarcity of trained surveyors to carry out the land survey. The Government of Kerala entrusted the responsibility of generating trained surveyors with NI ITI, which was successfully accomplished by Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan. His contribution in the survey of land throughout Kerala with the aid of theodolite was widely recognized. In 1956, following the formation of the Kerala State, he played a prominent role in the electrification process of South Kerala and Malabar by KSEB. During the India-China war of 1962, played a very important role in providing training for the aircraft engineers and electricians at the Industrial training institute in Neyyattinkara. It was a matter of pride for Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan that that his students of NI ITI Neyyattinkara played an important role in establishing Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KELTRON) and Kerala Financial Corporation. From a humble beginning as the Founder and Teacher of an Industrial Training Institute in 1954,now he stands tall as the

Chairman of Noorul Islam Educational Trust. The Trust currently owns and administers 17 institutions which also include Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (Deemed University accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade). As the Chancellor of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (Deemed University), it was his dream that realized to India’s 98th satellite and first indigenous private satellite by a University which was launched on 23rd June 2017 by ISRO from Shri Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. Still he is very active involving directly in even the minutest details of quality enhancement activities of all the institutions under Noorul Islam Educational Trust.
